Fierce, she is that but more! Some would even say sassy, and indubitably a winner of her environment rather a product. “I wasn’t a child brought into this world out of love. I was a child forced into this world out of hate and envy. I was dealt a hand of Sugar Honey Ice tea. And I played it the best way I knew how.”
Born to a junky mother as well as a drunken and deranged father, Tyliah was without a doubt resentful to not only her parents but to the world and anyone who rubbed her the wrong way. “Yes I had a shitty attitude! Yes I wore my rage on my sleeve, yes I hated the world for all the hurt that I had been done to me… and hell yeah I dared anyone to cross me.”
Along with Tyliah’s fierce and sassy persona, unbeknownst to many, Tyliah is intelligent and witty! Tyliah is just patiently waiting for someone to look beyond what is obvious to the naked eye. “I was about twelve when I began to realize that my family wasn’t normal. I guess that’s around the same time that I realized that life was more than Barbie dolls and Saturday morning cartoons.”
“Mommy is sick,” is all I heard or understood. The word HIV was somewhere in the conversation and Kat begun to cry.Those three letters stuck with Tyliah all her life but it wouldn’t be until her teen years that she would truly find out that HIV had a far more significant meaning besides three letters that appear in the alphabet.
Greetings my fellow bloggers, I guess you could call me Tyliah but then again that wouldn’t exactly be correct. My name is Andrea, A Writer with A Voice. You guys probably may have seen me posting under philly’s andrea or ~A~. Indeed that is me, in plain black and white. So over here in All Things Andrea…the Writer, I’m going to be displaying all original short stories, poems and excerpts from my novels. This ultimately led to a lot of confusion, e-mail bashing, some totally ignent, yes ignent post being posted indirectly about that girl they call “phillysandrea”.
